Starting January 2025, Antonio Vencesla is the new Corporate Affairs & Communications Director for JTI Romania, Moldova, and Bulgaria.
Antonio Vencesla has extensive experience in Corporate Affairs & Communications, having joined JTI in 2012 in Geneva as Corporate Affairs & Communications Manager. After three years, he led the Corporate Affairs team in Malawi, and in 2016, he returned to Geneva, where he coordinated Corporate Affairs & Communications for the Global Leaf & Global Supply Chain organization. Since 2021, he has been leading Corporate Affairs & Communications for Global Travel Retail.
Before joining JTI, Antonio worked for the Regional Government of Andalusia, Spain, and later in Brussels.
Antonio Vencesla holds a master’s degree in Natural Sciences and Agronomy from the University of Cordoba, Spain.
“I am excited to embark on a new adventure in a country where we have a history full of achievements and great potential to continue growing and strengthening our reputation, just as we have done for over 30 years since entering the local market,” said Antonio Vencesla.
Antonio replaces Gilda Lazăr, whose contract with JTI expired in December 2024.
JTI has around 1,500 employees in Romania, working at the headquarters, the factory, the IT hub established in Bucharest, and in over 30 sales offices across the country. JTI Romania also coordinates the markets in Bulgaria and Moldova and has recently been certified as a Top Employer for the 12th consecutive year.
