AI and digitalization rise in corporate strategy rankings
Artificial intelligence and digitalization have climbed to the top of Romanian companies’ strategic priorities for 2025, according to research by the Romanian Human Resources Services Providers Association (AFSRU). While only 14% of companies viewed AI as a priority last year, the figure has now surged to 53%.

The findings were presented at the HR Insights Forum 2025 – People, Productivity & AI – Shaping the Workforce of Tomorrow, which explored how technology is reshaping the labor market.

Some sectors are ramping up investments and hiring tech specialists, while others are reducing recruitment volumes or initiating layoffs, signaling a major shift in the job market.

„Adapting to the new economic conditions remains the number one priority in business, but process digitalization and the implementation of AI have now risen to second place among the main concerns of companies in Romania. “, said Sorina Donisa, President of AFSRU.

She also noted that interest in automated and intelligent technologies is growing fast: „If last year only a small percentage — 14% — of companies said they were investing in AI, this year 53% of companies have indicated that it is one of their priorities.“

By the end of 2025, the European Union is expected to introduce a new regulatory framework governing the use of AI in employment, shaping how companies deploy these technologies.
