Danish retailer NORMAL is entering the Romanian market with the opening of its first two stores in the country. The company will launch its Romanian operations with locations in Bucharest and Timișoara, opening on September 30 and October 2, respectively.
The first NORMAL store will open at Mega Mall Bucharest and will cover 275 square meters. Two days later, the retailer will inaugurate its second location at Shopping City Timișoara, spanning 380 square meters.
With its entry into Romania, NORMAL is expanding into its 14th European market. The retailer currently operates more than 1,000 stores across Europe.
Around 3,500 products in the permanent assortment
NORMAL’s retail concept focuses on a broad selection of everyday products, including personal care items, cosmetics, household products, food and beverages.
The retailer’s permanent assortment includes approximately 3,500 products, while more than 100 new items are introduced every week. The constantly changing selection is designed to give customers new products to discover on each visit.
The store layout is another distinctive element of the NORMAL concept. The locations are organized as a maze-like shopping route, a format the retailer also uses across its other European markets.

Expansion across European markets
NORMAL opened its first store in Denmark in 2013. Since then, the retailer has expanded its operations across Europe, building a network of more than 1,000 stores.
Before entering Romania, NORMAL was already present in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, France, Finland, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Austria, Slovakia, Ireland and the Czech Republic.
The opening of the two Romanian locations marks the official launch of NORMAL on the local retail market and adds another international player to Romania’s consumer retail sector.
