OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, has unveiled ChatGPT Atlas, a new web browser powered by its advanced AI assistant. The platform aims to redefine how users interact with the internet by integrating research, task management, and automation into a single workspace.

According to OpenAI, Atlas brings together all of a user’s work, tools, and context in one place: “A browser built with ChatGPT brings us closer to a true super-assistant that understands your world and helps you achieve your goals,” the company stated.

With Atlas, ChatGPT can assist users directly on any webpage — understanding tasks, completing actions, and retrieving information without switching tabs or copying content. The memory feature allows ChatGPT to recall previous interactions and relevant website contexts, which users can review, archive, or delete at any time.

Atlas also introduces an Agent Mode, enabling ChatGPT to perform research, automate workflows, plan events, and schedule meetings while browsing. The feature is currently available in preview for Plus, Pro, and Business subscribers.

For now, ChatGPT Atlas is available only on macOS, with a Windows version expected later. OpenAI calls the new browser a major step toward building a “super-assistant” that learns continuously and adapts to user needs.
