The online supermarket Sezamo announces that 3 out of 10 shopping carts include at least one special nutrition product, a 50% increase compared to six months ago. The category includes over 2,000 products, a 25% increase from the previous year, driven exclusively by customer demand.
On average, customers invest 150 RON per month in purchasing special nutrition products, with almost half opting for sugar-free items. Additionally, 27% of customers choose gluten-free products, 22% opt for lactose-free items, and 7% purchase protein-based products.
Starting today, for three months, Sezamo is reducing the prices of the 24 most-purchased products in the “Special Nutrition” category, bringing them to the same level as conventional products to make healthy eating more accessible to all customers. This marks the third consecutive year that the online supermarket has cut prices in this category by up to 50%.
“Special nutrition products have often been hard to find in one place. We wanted to change that and support our customers so that healthy eating is not a privilege but a right accessible to everyone. We are here to improve our customers’ lives, and that is our mission every day,” said Michael Kaiser, Sezamo’s Commercial Director.
Sezamo is a true one-stop-shop, replacing up to 8 trips around the city to the pharmacy, butcher, deli, bakery, market, fishmonger, pet shop, and specialty diet store with a single online order.
The online supermarket offers a selection of over 15,000 products, including fresh goods directly from local farmers, artisanal foods, and international supermarket brands—all in one place. Orders are delivered from a 12,000 m² warehouse located in CTPark, in northern Bucharest, which includes ambient storage areas and temperature-controlled units to ensure optimal product preservation while reducing energy costs.
