eAWB launches AI-powered mobile app to speed up shipping

Share

At a time when Romania is experiencing record parcel volumes, eAWB, a courier services marketplace, has launched an AI-powered mobile application designed to help merchants cope with increased demand. The app is available on both Android and iOS, and allows users to ship a parcel or envelope in under two minutes.

The company also announced that a full set of new features will be unveiled between November 24 and December 4.

Through the mobile app, businesses from any sector and online stores can ship customer orders or holiday gifts within minutes by generating the AWB directly on their phone and selecting their preferred courier at pre-negotiated rates. Traditional mail, including Christmas cards, can also be sent through the app.

All shipping tools in one place

The mobile application provides access to the full functionality of the eAWB platform in a mobile-optimized format. Users can centrally manage shipments, access all integrated couriers and a nationwide locker network with over 8,000 delivery points. The app supports order placement, automatic pickup scheduling, real-time shipment status notifications, order management and, for selected clients, deferred billing.

AI assistant DANA is also available within the app to support users during the shipping process.

“The mobile app launch is part of our ongoing technology investment strategy. After developing our AI-based platform and introducing DANA, the first AI assistant dedicated to automated customer request management, extending access to mobile devices was a natural step. (…) Currently, 42% of eAWB orders are placed on mobile, and we aim to reach a 60–70% share within the next year,” said Radu Meteș, CEO and co-founder of eAWB.

Parcel volumes continue to rise

In 2024, Romania’s parcel traffic increased by 27%, reaching 335 million shipments, or about 18 parcels per capita annually. Revenues generated by the parcel segment amounted to approximately RON 5 billion. Investments in postal services exceeded RON 500 million, mainly driven by the expansion of parcel locker networks, which now include over 8,200 units nationwide.
