Share

Rompetrol Rafinare has announced the completion of maintenance works at Petromidia Refinery and Vega Refinery, with both facilities expected to return to full capacity in the coming days. The restart could help stabilize fuel prices on the domestic market, according to Agerpres.

Extensive maintenance operations

The scheduled shutdown included over 700 maintenance works, catalyst replacements in six main installations, and checks on around 900 pieces of equipment.

Additionally, inspections and testing were carried out on nearly 1,200 pipelines, ensuring operational safety and efficiency.

Certifications and approvals

The process also included obtaining operational recertifications from ISCIR and CNCIR.

Workforce involved

More than 2,500 specialists participated in the project, including company employees, the general contractor Rominserv, and 45 partner companies.

Market impact

Operations were halted in early March for scheduled maintenance lasting approximately 20 days.

According to company representatives, the restart will increase fuel supply and support market stabilization.

Importance of maintenance cycles

The company emphasized that such maintenance works are essential for safe operations, process continuity, and environmental protection.

Major overhauls are conducted every four years, with intermediate shutdowns every two years.
