The 53rd edition of the World Rowing Championships in Shanghai brings together the global elite of the sport. Romania is competing with 39 athletes, in a year of special significance for the Romanian Rowing Federation, which celebrates its centenary. With an impressive track record and consistent results, Romania remains one of the most respected nations in rowing competitions.
Partnership for Performance and Visual Health
In this context, OPTIblu, part of Optical Investment Group, has entered a partnership with the Romanian Rowing Federation.
“The tricolor boats gain speed, glide smoothly over the water, and every crew has real chances to win medals. Beyond the strength of the arms and the perfect synchronization of the oars, an invisible detail from the sidelines now becomes an ally: visual protection,” the company emphasizes in a press release.
Through this agreement, Romanian athletes receive Oakley sports glasses adapted to competition conditions, as well as complete optical care services, including specialist consultations and customized eyewear, according to OPTIblu representatives.

Shared Vision: Eye Health and Sporting Excellence
“For us, this partnership means more than supporting a team, because it is our way of showing that visual health and performance go hand in hand. Romanian rowers represent perseverance and discipline, values we share and want to support with our expertise,” says Alina Bistreanu, CEO of Optical Investment Group.
According to the World Health Organization, more than 2.2 billion people live with vision impairments, at least 1 billion of which could have been prevented with proper care. In this light, the support given to elite rowers also carries symbolic value, sending a strong message to the community about the importance of prevention and visual health.
