Brico Depot, Now Officially Part of the Altex Ecosystem
Altex Romania, the leading player in the electro-IT retail market, is expanding its brand ecosystem this year by integrating the Brico Depot network, which will participate for the first time in the company’s Black Friday campaign.
This integration marks an important milestone in strengthening the group’s position on the local market. Brico Depot now operates under the Altex Romania umbrella, alongside Altex and Media Galaxy, with each maintaining its own distinct strategy.
“The group has three brands that share the same values and quality standards. We won’t merge the stores, but there are locations where all of them operate within the same complex,” explained Raul Filip, Deputy Director at Altex Romania.
Ambitious Expansion Plans
The group plans to open 7–10 new Altex and Brico Depot stores every year, continuing its accelerated expansion strategy.
In 2024, Altex recorded a turnover of 7.7 billion lei, while Brico Depot generated sales worth 1.5 billion lei.
After consolidating its operations, Altex Romania could become the second entrepreneurial company in the country to exceed 10 billion lei (equivalent to 2 billion euros) in turnover under a single fiscal entity.
