According to ZF, Banca Transilvania has provided financing of over €75 million to Nova H, a company owned by Nova Power & Gas, to develop a battery-based energy storage facility with an installed power of 200 MW and a capacity of 400 MWh.

According to the bank, the project directly contributes to doubling Romania’s national energy storage capacity, strengthening the country’s energy system.

The facility is located in Florești, Cluj County, and entered commercial operation in December. At the same time, Nova Power & Gas announced the start of construction works on a combined-cycle power generation plant with an installed capacity of 160 MW, located in Câmpia Turzii, also in Cluj County.

The total value of the two investments exceeds €350 million. Bank representatives emphasize that the financing has a direct impact on Romania’s energy security by increasing storage capacity, a key factor for integrating renewable energy production and balancing the national energy system.

The project also supports the energy transition by developing new production and storage capacities aligned with current market needs.

Nova Power & Gas is part of E-INFRA Group and operates across the entire energy value chain, from production and supply to storage and infrastructure investments. The company is among the active players in Romania’s energy and storage project segment.
