The ZBOR program is entering a new development stage as BCR and Google Romania launch the country’s first training initiative dedicated to preparing AI instructors. Developed with support from Google specialists, the programme marks a national premiere and expands ZBOR’s focus toward advanced digital competencies.
Starting in November, Google experts will visit the nine ZBOR educational hubs – from Cluj-Napoca and Brașov to Timișoara and Constanța – to deliver free workshops designed to help young people use AI safely, creatively and responsibly.

The sessions will address practical uses of AI in learning and career development, the impact of automation on employment and the ethical foundations needed in a fast-changing technological landscape.
“ZBOR encourages learning through discovery and shared experience. The collaboration with Google strengthens our mission by bringing future-relevant skills where they’re needed most – close to young people,” said Nicoleta Deliu-Pașol, Head of Communication & CSR at BCR.
The partnership positions ZBOR as a connector between non-formal education and modern tech knowledge. Once trained, the new AI instructors will take their expertise back into their local communities, contributing to a broader digital literacy movement.
“Google remains committed to Romania’s long-term development. As we step into a new era defined by artificial intelligence, educational partnerships like this one play a crucial role,” stated Elisabeta Moraru, Google Romania Country Director.
Launched in 2024, ZBOR includes learning hubs, digital tools and a nationwide community of over 10,000 young people, mentors and trainers. Many participants say the training experience already changed their perspective. “AI isn’t about replacing people – it’s about amplifying what they can do,” said Diana Costăchescu, a ZBOR trainer.
The AI workshops are free and open to all interested young people.
