Competition Council Approves the Acquisition
The Romanian Competition Council has approved the transaction through which Carrier Global Corporation, an American company, will acquire several companies and assets from Romania and three other European countries, according to an official statement from the institution.
The acquisition includes AHI Carrier Romania SRL, AHI Carrier Hungary HVAC Kft. (Hungary), AHI Carrier CZ S.R.O. (Czech Republic), and certain assets belonging to AHI Carrier GmbH in Austria.
Company Details and the Authority’s Decision
Carrier Global Corporation is the parent company of the Carrier corporate group, which specializes in intelligent climate and energy solutions, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigerated transport systems.
The acquired companies distribute HVAC equipment and solutions under the Carrier brand, selling heat pumps and chillers in their respective markets.
“Following the analysis, the Competition Council concluded that this operation does not raise significant obstacles to effective competition on the Romanian market or on a substantial part of it, and that there are no serious doubts regarding its compatibility with a normal competitive environment,” the institution stated.
