The New Platform Relies on AI Verification from Grok and Reuses Wikipedia Content
Elon Musk has officially launched Grokipedia, which he describes as a “less biased” alternative to Wikipedia, according to News.ro. The new platform features a minimalist design with a simple search bar on the homepage and no visible menus or ads.
At launch, Grokipedia hosts over 885,000 articles, compared to the roughly seven million available on English Wikipedia.

Many of these entries appear to be rewritten versions of existing Wikipedia articles, but Musk claims they’ve been “purged of ideological bias” and verified by Grok, his company’s large language model developed under xAI.
Unlike Wikipedia, Grokipedia doesn’t display edit histories or author names, and not all pages can be modified by users. The decision to rely on an AI model for verification has raised concerns, given that language models are known to occasionally generate inaccurate information.
Observers have also pointed out that several Grokipedia entries omit scientific information disputed by right-wing groups, including references to human-caused climate change. Musk stated that his goal is to build “a more honest and balanced encyclopedia,” though it remains unclear whether public editing will be allowed in the future.
