Google is set to announce on Tuesday its largest investment ever in Germany, according to an invitation to a press conference sent to journalists and cited by Reuters. The plan will involve the construction of digital infrastructure and data centers, as well as innovative projects focused on renewable energy and waste heat recovery.

The U.S. tech giant also plans to expand its offices in Munich, Frankfurt, and Berlin, further strengthening its presence in one of Europe’s key technology markets.

A German government official confirmed to Reuters that Google will be investing billions of euros in the country and “addressing real issues of the future through innovation, artificial intelligence, and climate-neutral transformation.”

The official added that the government aims to enhance competitiveness and secure jobs through ongoing structural reforms.

The new initiative is part of Google’s broader European strategy to expand its AI and cloud infrastructure, while supporting Europe’s push toward digital sovereignty and sustainable energy.

More details, including the investment amount and project timeline, will be announced during the official press conference on Tuesday.
