ING Bank and Generali Romania have launched RoPay Facturi, a new digital feature that enables customers to pay their insurance premiums simply by scanning a QR code through their bank’s mobile app. Starting October, all Generali payment documents include a RoPay QR code, giving users a fast and secure method for instant payments without manually entering banking details.
The integration removes one of the most cumbersome steps in the process and significantly reduces the risk of human error. “Integrating the RoPay solution is a natural step in simplifying our interaction with clients.

We eliminate the risk of data entry errors and reduce the time required for purchasing and paying for insurance services,” said Ileana Damian, Chief Operations Officer at Generali Romania.
RoPay Facturi is part of the national RoPay digital payment infrastructure, developed by TRANSFOND together with financial institutions. The ecosystem enables instant transfers and merchant payments through QR code scanning, without the need for a card.
“We believe RoPay solutions will become a market standard. Adding the QR code to Generali documents demonstrates a consistent focus on providing a simple and efficient customer experience,” said Raluca Țintoiu, Deputy CEO & Head of Wholesale Banking, ING Bank Romania.
The service runs exclusively through banks’ mobile apps and uses full encryption, biometric authentication or dynamic passwords, ensuring a high level of security and reducing risks linked to QR-code fraud attempts. “RoPay transforms the financial experience into a fast and secure one,” added Sabin Carantină, General Manager of TRANSFOND.
