Jumbo Group recorded an 8% increase in revenue, reaching €497.28 million, while net profit amounted to €117 million in the first half of 2025. Investments in new stores, e-commerce, and infrastructure continue, according to Business Daily.
Expansion in the Romanian Market
In Romania, Jumbo maintained its growth pace, opening a new superstore this year, following the group’s strategy of launching one new store annually. Ongoing investments in store development and online infrastructure strengthen Jumbo’s position in Romanian retail.

The management stated: “Our strategy focuses on modernizing digital systems, including e-commerce, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence, to provide a more efficient and attractive shopping experience for Romanian consumers.”
International Development Plans
Jumbo continues to expand its network, with 89 stores in Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, and Romania, targeting two new hypermarkets per year. Significant investments are directed toward e-commerce, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and the creation of two new distribution centers worth over €60 million.
Country-Specific Strategy:
- Greece: Two existing stores have been acquired, with two more leased stores expected to be finalized soon. A new store is planned every three years.
- Cyprus: Two new hypermarkets will be operational within the next five years.
- Bulgaria: A new hypermarket is planned within the next 2–3 years.
- Romania: Growth continues at the pace of one new superstore per year.
At the beginning of this month, Jumbo had 20 stores in Romania and an online store, with a strategic goal to double the network in the next eight years. An agreement for a new store in Baia Mare is underway and is expected to further strengthen the group’s growth trajectory in the country.
Through franchise partnerships, Jumbo operates 41 stores under its brand in Albania, Kosovo, Serbia, North Macedonia, Bosnia, Montenegro, and Israel. Management continuously evaluates potential business proposals for partnerships outside the Eurozone.
