Scandinavian retailer JYSK, one of the most active players in the home & deco sector, has leased approximately 1,000 square meters in Lemon Retail Park. The transaction was facilitated by Colliers, representing Synergy, the project’s developer and owner. JYSK’s opening strengthens the tenant mix of the retail park in the Pipera–Voluntari area and responds to strong demand from value-for-money brands for retail park locations.

JYSK’s expansion strategy and the evolution of Lemon Retail Park

JYSK continues its national expansion strategy by targeting densely populated communities, where demand for affordable home & deco products is rising. The new store will offer a wide range of home goods, furniture, textiles, and storage solutions.

“Expansion is in JYSK’s DNA. Because we want to stay close to our customers, our expansion plans in Romania remain strong. After opening our 150th store this spring, we are continuing with our goal of launching 15 new stores annually. We are pleased to have found a space aligned with our concept in Lemon Retail Park, a modern and accessible shopping center. In our Customers’ First Choice strategy for 2026–2028, we aim to expand further in large cities and metropolitan areas, and this new store fits perfectly,” said Cristian Zamfir, Development Manager at JYSK Romania.

With JYSK joining the project, Lemon Retail Park reinforces its position as a convenient shopping destination in a market where retail parks are rapidly gaining ground due to accessibility, efficient costs, and a tenant mix aligned with daily needs. The project includes brands from home & deco, fashion, beauty, services, and food.

Strategic positioning and commercial appeal

Located at the intersection of the A3 motorway and Strada Popasului, Lemon Retail Park benefits from a strong strategic position in an area undergoing rapid residential development. Opened in 2022 and covering around 9,500 sqm, the shopping center includes stores, services, and food & leisure options, serving both local residents and office commuters from Pipera.

“Retailers seek flexible, efficient spaces anchored in local needs, and Lemon Retail Park fits these criteria exceptionally well. Its positioning and value-oriented tenant mix support both traffic and tenant performance. JYSK is a strategic addition for this type of development and, together with Sinsay, Tedi, Mega Image, and DM, will significantly enhance the site’s appeal. We expect continued interest in such schemes, especially from international brands looking to expand in smaller and medium-sized cities,” added Liana Dumitru, Director Retail Agency, Colliers.
