Share

Nusco Group has signed a strategic partnership with Medicana Health Group to develop the Turkish network’s first hospital in Romania. The investment, exceeding €46 million, will be part of the Nusco City urban regeneration project in the northern area of Bucharest.

The new medical unit will have a capacity of approximately 120 beds and will operate as a general hospital, covering major medical specialties. It will provide healthcare services to patients from Bucharest and across the country.

Project Details and Construction Timeline

The hospital will be built on a 4,000-square-meter plot and will feature a total built area of around 22,000 square meters. Out of this, 16,000 square meters will be above ground, while 6,000 square meters will be allocated to underground parking spaces and specialized medical facilities.

The project will be located across from the upcoming Hyatt Hotel, also introduced to Romania by Nusco. Construction is expected to begin in early 2026, with the hospital’s inauguration scheduled for the summer of 2028.

Medicana Health Group will operate the facility as a tenant. Fortim Trusted Advisors acted as the exclusive advisor for the transaction, while legal assistance was provided by Theodor McCann for Nusco and by Daiana Assoum and Silviu Stratulat (SAA – Stratulat Albulescu Attorneys at Law) for Medicana.

“We aim to bring internationally renowned operators such as Medicana and Hyatt into the community. This is how we open the gateway to Nusco City and position our project as a symbol of urban revitalization within Bucharest’s social and economic landscape,” said Michele Nusco, CEO of Nusco.

Dr. Hüseyin Bozkurt, Chairman of the Board of Medicana Group, emphasized the strategic value of the investment: “We see Romania as a long-term potential market and want to offer here the same standard of medical excellence that defines the Medicana brand globally. Nusco is a trusted partner who shares our vision focused on quality and community care.”

According to Nicolae Ciobanu, Managing Partner and Head of Advisory at Fortim Trusted Advisors, this transaction “demonstrates not only the strong potential of one of Bucharest’s most dynamic growth areas but also the value of 100% dedicated consultancy.”

Nusco City: A New Urban Landmark

Launched in 2020, Nusco City is being developed on a 23-hectare site, formerly part of the Pipera industrial platform. The project will include more than 4,000 housing units, green spaces covering about 40% of the land, parks, educational institutions, a hotel, a hospital, commercial areas, and office buildings.

The first phase, consisting of 622 residential units, was completed in 2023. The second phase, which includes 828 apartments and over 1,000 parking spaces, is currently under development and scheduled for delivery by 2026. The total investment for this stage exceeds €130 million.
