Record 3,000+ Tons of Tomatoes Delivered in 2025
Mega Image, part of the Belgian Delhaize Group, celebrates 11 years of partnership with local farmers through its flagship program “Romanian Tastes from Local Farmers”, reaching €3.3 million in total investment over the past two years.
In the first nine months of 2025, the retailer delivered 16,200 tons of vegetables and 7,000 tons of fruits to stores across Romania. Tomatoes set a new record, with over 3,000 tons harvested, mainly traditional varieties such as “heart of ox” and pink tomatoes, which saw growth of more than 100% year-on-year. Over 2,000 food safety analyses were conducted, ensuring full product traceability.
