Cloudflare, the global provider of infrastructure and security services for numerous websites, reported several technical problems on November 18, which caused malfunctions across many online platforms. As a result, multiple websites became unavailable or displayed errors during access.
Cloudflare operates as a reverse proxy, routing traffic between users and a website’s server to enhance performance and security.

Because of this intermediary role, any disruption within Cloudflare immediately impacts the websites that rely on its services, even though the affected sites may not experience internal issues of their own.
Romania’s National Cyber Security Directorate clarified that the incident was not caused by a cyberattack. “ This event was caused solely by operational errors and is not related to any cyberattack. The technical analysis found no evidence suggesting system compromise or a security breach.”, the DNSC stated.
