Romanian agri-biotech expands across the Atlantic
Norofert, Romania’s leading producer of organic agricultural inputs and biotechnological solutions, listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (symbol: NRF), has officially launched its Norofert Brasil LTDA production line in Chapeco, Brazil.

The venture, initiated in August 2023 and established in 2024 in partnership with Engenutri Group, represents a €500,000 joint investment. The new facility, with a daily capacity of 15,000 liters, follows the same production concept as Norofert’s plant in South Dakota, USA, and uses bacteria cultivated at the company’s R&D laboratory in Filipeștii de Pădure, Romania.

“We want Norofert to become an ambassador of Romanian innovation in global agriculture, in partnership with the capital market. Launching our production line in Brazil is a milestone for a Romanian company entering one of the world’s largest and most dynamic agricultural markets,” said Vlad Popescu, Chairman of Norofert.

In its initial phase, 16 products have been approved for local crops such as corn, soy, wheat, sugarcane, and coffee. Within three years, Norofert expects its plants in Brazil and the USA to generate up to 40% of the group’s consolidated revenue.

Founded in 2000, Norofert leads regenerative agriculture research and produces 85 organic products, serving both conventional and organic farmers.
