Romanian software developer RebelDot and German technology group GEA— supplier for the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries—announce the launch of RebelDot Process Industries, a new joint venture and long-term strategic partnership set to become operational in January 2026. The company will be headquartered in Cluj-Napoca and aims to address the growing demand for specialised industrial software solutions.
RebelDot Process Industries will focus on delivering web applications, mobile applications, DevOps services and tailored digital solutions for industrial manufacturers and OEMs.

“Creating a joint venture with GEA is an important milestone for RebelDot and the broader technology ecosystem we belong to. It shows that our region can contribute far beyond high-quality engineering – we can deliver strategy, product thinking, innovation and trust,” said Tudor Ciuleanu, CEO of RebelDot.
Collaboration expands into AI and industrial cloud solutions
The partnership extends into artificial intelligence, with GEA assigning a dedicated software engineering team within RebelDot. One example is the development of GEA Copilot, a digital assistant designed to support industrial maintenance teams.
“This joint venture allows us to combine our top-tier industry expertise with software excellence. It underlines our ambition to lead the digital transformation of the processing industry and deliver first-class value to our customers,” said Tom Oelsner, Chief Digital Officer at GEA.
GEA also announced the expansion of its industrial cloud platform, GEA Cloud, through collaboration with RebelDot, as well as joining the Eclipse Foundation to advance open-source software in the processing industries.
RebelDot currently employs more than 300 specialists and reported a 40% increase in revenue in 2024, strengthening its position in the software development landscape.
