A Boeing 737 aircraft is set to be transformed into a luxury hotel near Râșnov, Brașov County, marking the first accommodation of its kind in Romania. The project has received its urban planning certificate from the Râșnov City Hall and aims to blend experiential tourism with innovative design, according to Rador News Agency, citing Radio Brașov.
“The project will be located in the Pănicel area, on the right side of DN73 toward Bran, about 500 meters from the main road. It was designed to integrate harmoniously with the natural landscape and create no disturbance to the local community, being aimed at a select audience seeking tranquility and premium experiences in nature,” said Răzvan Iancu, spokesperson for Râșnov City Hall.

The initiative will turn a real Boeing aircraft into a high-end lodging facility, expected to become an innovative tourist attraction for the Bran–Râșnov area, one of Romania’s most popular destinations.
The Boeing 737 has already gone viral online, after footage of its transport from Bucharest to Râșnov circulated on social media. The oversized load caused temporary traffic slowdowns on several sections of DN1, but the Romanian Road Authority (CNAIR) confirmed the transfer was authorized as a special transport.
Currently in the planning stage, the project could soon become a unique landmark in the region, combining aviation aesthetics with the appeal of mountain luxury tourism.
