Projects above 1 GW signal a strategic shift in the energy landscape
Romania is entering a new phase in renewable energy: projects now reach hundreds or even thousands of MW, backed by global investors and accelerated by the Contract for Difference (CfD) scheme. More than 1 GW became operational in 2025, and 7.2 GW hold construction authorisation — the most advanced pipeline in over a decade.

- Rezolv Energy (Actis) – 1.044 GW solar in Arad + major wind projects
- Electrica – 1 GW target backed by newly issued bonds
With the right execution, the next decade could turn Romania into a regional renewable powerhouse — if stability and predictability match ambition.
