The shift comes as Alphabet shares surge, boosted by the growing success of Google’s Gemini artificial intelligence platform, Mediafax reports.

Wealth surge and the impact of Gemini

According to Forbes, Sergey Brin is now officially the fourth wealthiest person in the world. Alphabet’s stock closed the day over 1% higher at $317, continuing an upward trend of nearly 10% over the past 30 days. Investor confidence has been fueled by the strong performance of the Gemini 3 AI model launched in November.

Gemini 3 outperformed OpenAI’s top models in tests covering general knowledge, mathematics, and programming, all while operating without Nvidia graphics processors. This detail attracted considerable market attention amid ongoing concerns about a potential AI bubble.

Brin’s net worth has risen to roughly $240 billion, an increase of $2.4 billion from the previous day. With this gain, he surpassed Jeff Bezos, whose wealth is estimated at $239.9 billion in the Forbes ranking.

The top three positions globally remain held by Elon Musk, Larry Ellison, and Larry Page. Musk continues to lead with an estimated net worth of $491 billion.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Department of Defense announced that it will adopt the Google Gemini platform to support the development of its own generative AI system, reinforcing investor interest in Alphabet’s technology ecosystem.
