The founder of Telegram regains the right to travel outside France

Pavel Durov, founder of messaging platform Telegram, who has been charged in France with several offenses linked to organized crime, is once again free to travel abroad. Judicial restrictions that prevented him from leaving France and required him to report regularly to the police station in Nice have been lifted, according to a judicial source quoted by Le Figaro.

In mid-June, Durov had already obtained a partial relaxation of the restrictions, allowing him to travel to Dubai—his place of residence—after notifying investigating judges, although he was still required to return to France every 14 days. According to the judicial source, the 41-year-old entrepreneur “fully complied with the judicial control” over the past year and has been questioned three times.
