The legendary Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, operated by Belmond, will launch a spectacular new route to the Amalfi Coast in May 2026, marking its first-ever journey along Italy’s iconic shoreline. The itinerary includes stops in Pompeii and an extended two-night stay at the Belmond Hotel Caruso in Ravello.

Part of the “Villeggiatura by Train” series, the journey blends the vintage charm of the historic carriages with Belmond’s signature hospitality, offering guests an immersive luxury experience.

We are delighted to introduce the Amalfi Coast among our Italian routes, continuing to connect our legendary train with our Belmond hotels,” said Pascal Deyrolle, Managing Director of VSOE, highlighting the route’s unique way of revealing Italy’s mountain and coastal beauty.

Guests will enjoy regionally inspired cuisine, live music in the famous “3674” bar car, and a guided tour of Pompeii, with Grand Suite travelers granted exclusive access to Casa del Larario Regio V. In Ravello, the stay at Belmond Hotel Caruso will include culinary events led by Chef Armando Aristarco, boat tours to Positano, and a grand gala dinner in the Wagner Gardens.

Fares for the Villeggiatura by Train experience start from £8,600 per person, covering the Paris–Amalfi journey in a luxury cabin and two nights at Belmond’s historic cliffside hotel.
