Ahold Delhaize, the company operating Mega Image and Profi in Romania, has appointed Xavier Piesvaux as Country Manager Romania, effective 1 January 2026. Piesvaux will step down from his role as Brand President of Delhaize Belgium and relocate to Romania to oversee the expansion and transformation of the two retail brands.
Extensive experience on the Romanian market
“Romania is one of the most dynamic markets in our portfolio, with a loyal customer base and a strong appetite for innovation. Our presence with two brands in the country brings significant growth opportunities,” said Claude Sarrailh, CEO of Ahold Delhaize Europe & Indonesia.

He added that Piesvaux’s proven expertise in transformational leadership will strengthen the company’s position in Romania and thanked Jesper for his remarkable contributions.
Piesvaux previously served as Brand President of Mega Image between 2006 and 2015, a period marked by significant expansion on the Romanian market. He rejoined Ahold Delhaize in 2017 as Brand President of Delhaize Belgium.
