After 25 years of experience, the Honda Prelude returns to Europe as a hybrid sports coupé that blends timeless elegance with cutting-edge innovation. The new Prelude e:HEV delivers a refined, dynamic driving experience thanks to its advanced hybrid powertrain and the groundbreaking Honda S+ Shift system, which simulates the sound and feel of quick automatic gear changes.
Its exterior design draws inspiration from the grace of modern gliders, with a wide, low stance for optimal aerodynamics and balance. The suspension borrows technology from the Civic Type R, combining agility with comfort, while the cockpit-like interior offers premium materials and intuitive ergonomics. The Honda SENSING suite ensures a safe and connected drive.
“The return of the Honda Prelude has been eagerly awaited by enthusiasts worldwide. It has always been a launchpad for innovation, and the latest version follows that tradition, combining elegant design, the innovative Honda S+ Shift system, and a powerful full-hybrid engine,” said Hans de Jaeger, Senior Vice President, Honda Motor Europe.
Hybrid performance, driving pleasure, and advanced comfort
The e:HEV full-hybrid powertrain pairs a 2.0-liter petrol engine with two electric motors, producing 184 hp (135 kW). Drivers can choose between Comfort, GT, Sport, and Individual modes, adapting performance to their preferences.
The S+ Shift system introduces an 8-speed virtual transmission, operated via steering wheel paddles, creating a natural connection between driver and car. Adaptive dampers and Agile Handling Assist (AHA) technology enhance cornering precision and ride quality.
Inside, the car features a 10.2-inch digital cluster, a 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an 8-speaker Bose audio system. The Prelude offers seating for four, a spacious 663-liter trunk, and four exterior colors: Moonlit White Pearl, Meteoroid Grey Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl, and Racing Blue Pearl.
The new Honda Prelude e:HEV will reach Romanian showrooms in spring 2026.
