Red Bull has taken a bold step from the world of Formula 1 into the hypercar segment, unveiling the final design of its first production model, the RB17. The car carries clear F1 DNA, reimagined as a two-seat machine designed for both road and track use.
The RB17 represents more than a styling exercise. It reflects Red Bull’s ambition to translate its racing expertise into an ultra-exclusive performance product. Since entering Formula 1 in 2005, following the acquisition of Jaguar Racing, Red Bull has evolved into a dominant force, securing multiple world titles and reshaping the competitive landscape through innovation and strategy.
A hypercar shaped by Adrian Newey
The RB17 bears the conceptual signature of legendary designer Adrian Newey. Although Newey has since moved to Aston Martin, he remained closely involved during key development phases. The aggressive silhouette, advanced aerodynamics and F1-inspired proportions define the car’s character.
At its core lies a hybrid V10 powertrain delivering around 1,200 horsepower, with 1,000 hp from the combustion engine and 200 hp from the electric motor. This setup combines explosive acceleration with precise power delivery. One of the most complex engineering challenges involved relocating the exhaust system, which required extensive thermal management solutions.
Final testing is underway, with production scheduled to begin in early 2027. Limited to just 50 units and priced above $6 million each, the RB17 places Red Bull firmly among the world’s most exclusive hypercar manufacturers.
