Airline targets global expansion and a fleet of more than 800 aircraft by 2033
Turkish Airlines has announced a major investment of 100 billion Turkish lira (over $2.3 billion) to build the world’s largest cargo terminal, along with the largest in-flight catering facility globally, according to Agerpres, citing Anadolu Agency.
“Turkey is growing, Turkish Airlines is on the rise,” the airline stated on the NSosyal social media platform.

The company said the projects will create around 26,000 new jobs, reinforcing its role as a flagship brand of the Turkish economy.
While the exact locations have not yet been disclosed, Istanbul—Turkey’s main commercial hub and home to two major international airports—is considered the most likely site. Based in Istanbul, Turkish Airlines carries more than 85 million passengers and around two million tonnes of cargo each year.
CEO Bilal Eksi said the airline aims to rank among the world’s top five carriers by 2033, when its fleet is expected to grow to 813 aircraft.
By the end of 2025, Turkish Airlines already operated a fleet of 514 aircraft, placing it among the largest airlines worldwide.
